Exclusive: Video shows Ja’Marr Chase spit on Jalen Ramsey, NFL reviewing

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - An on-field incident between Ja’Marr Chase and Jalen Ramsey is being reviewed by the NFL after FOX19 Now video showed Chase spit on the Steelers’ defensive back in Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh.

The incident, which Chase denied after the game, did not result in the Bengals’ star wide receiver being ejected from the game because the referee noted after the game that he did not see Chase spit on Ramsey.

“I ain’t spit on nobody,” said Chase after the game.

Ramsey retaliated by grabbing Chase’s facemask and punching his helmet. Ramsey was ejected from the game, Ja’Marr Chase was not and played the rest of the game.

The television broadcast replays did not capture the incident clearly, but FOX19 NOW’s sideline camera caught the moment of Chase spitting on Ramsey, sparking the incident.

“I’m sure the NFL, they’ll do their due diligence,” said Jalen Ramsey after the game. “They’ve got 100 cameras out there. They can investigate, they can see everything, they should be able to pull it up and see that he spit.”

The NFL will be reviewing video of the incident for possible league discipline against Ja’Marr Chase.
