Real Madrid center-back Dean Huijsen has escaped a serious injury and will be available when Los Blancos visit Elche next Sunday, according to reports from AS and La Sexta. Huijsen was forced to leave Spain’s training camp during this FIFA break with what seemed to be a minor groin injury but he just had muscle fatigue, per those same reports.
Either way, coach Xabi Alonso could decide to give him so extra rest, as Raúl Asencio has performed at a very high level in recent games. Monitoring Huijsen’s status and fatigue will be important for Real Madrid’s coaching staff, who will need to start making some rotations if they want to keep the squad fresh and ready for what’s going to be a crucial stretch of away games before the Christmas break.
Fede Valverde and Thibaut Courtois will be expected to be available as well, even though they did not play for their countries during this break.
