Josh Hines-Allen & other Jaguars whose stock is soaring after win vs. Chargers

The Jacksonville Jaguars desperately needed to bounce back after suffering a meltdown against the Houston Texans. They did just that when they manhandled the Los Angeles Chargers on their way to a 35-6 win. One big reason the Jags came out on top was that they limited the number of penalties — an issue that's held them back this season — to just one.

Another reason Jacksonville trounced the Bolts was that Trevor Lawrence overall played a solid game. The fifth-year quarterback did a good job of distributing the ball and kept the Los Angeles defense on its toes by using his legs to move the chains.

But as encouraging as Lawrence's play was, he was far from the only Jaguar who stepped up in the statement win over the Chargers. With this in mind, here are five players who saw their stock soar in Week 11.

Josh Hines-Allen, Jaguars defensive end

There's no denying that Josh Hines-Allen has been unremarkable at times this season. However, he reminded everyone just how dominant he can be when he broke the franchise's all-time sack record. But aside from putting Justin Herbert on his back, the former Kentucky Wildcat tallied a team-best five total pressures.

The Jaguars will need Hines-Allen to build off of his strong outing, and if he does, their pass rush could give opposing teams trouble the rest of the way.

Danny Striggow & BJ Green II, Jaguars defensive ends

Josh Hines-Allen wasn't the only Jaguars pass rusher who came through against the Chargers. Undrafted rookies Danny Striggow and B.J. Green II also did their part by logging a combined two total pressures. On top of that, Green would've had his first career sack if the officiating crew hadn't slapped him with a questionable roughing the passer call.

Before the game, Jacksonville made veteran Emmanuel Ogbah a healthy scratch in order to increase the rookies' snap tally. It's fair to say that both Striggow and Green proved that they deserved more playing time.

Antonio Johnson, Jaguars safety

Antonio Johnson has dealt with several ups and downs throughout his career. He flashed as a rookie in 2023 but was benched the following year. This season, the former East St. Louis, Illinois native once again got a chance to start when Eric Murray was placed on Injured Reserve. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to take advantage of the opportunity.

Nevertheless, the Jags' confidence in Johnson didn't waver, and he repaid their trust by picking off Justin Herbert in Week 11. He did allow one pass, but it went for no yards. With his strong outing, the former Texas A&M Aggie should feel good about keeping the starting job for the foreseeable future.

Cole Van Lanen, right tackle

Walker Little could be deserving of this spot, as he bounced back after a dreadful outing against the Texans. That said, Cole Valen Lanen was an equally worthy candidate for the entry. A fourth-year veteran, the former Wisconsin Badger filled in for Anton Harrison and more than held his own, giving up just one pressure and one sack on 68 offensive snaps.

Coen praised Van Lanen's versatility before the game, and he delivered on a day in which the offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage.

Bhaysul Tuten, Jaguars running back

The Jaguars showed in the win over the Chargers that they're better on offense when they lean on both Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten. The former toted the rock 19 times for 73 yards with two touchdowns, while the latter racked up 15 carries for 79 yards with a touchdown.

What's more impressive about Tuten's outing is that he averaged 4.9 yards despite the fact that the Jaguars used him several times in short-yard situations. It's fair to say that the former Virginia Hokie did enough to earn a few more carries in the future.
