Warriors star Draymond Green opens up on fan altercation and ‘Angel Reese’ taunt

Every NBA fan knows that Draymond Green is one of the most vocal players in basketball. The Golden State Warriors star often gets into it with opposing players and even fans. And during the team’s win against the New Orleans Pelicans, there was an incident involving a fan sitting courtside.

Green took exception to some comments from the fan, walking up to him and jawing with him. The situation was broken up by his Warriors teammates, and arena security got involved as well. After the game, Green revealed his perspective, and the fan, Sam Green, spoke out as well.

“He just kept calling me a woman,” Green said after the game. “He got quiet, though. So, it was fine.”

The Pelicans fan said he was taunting Draymond with chants of ‘Angel Reese,’ as per ESPN. This was in reference to Green not making many shots and grabbing his own rebounds.

“He just kept calling me a woman,” the Warriors man told the media. “It was a good joke at first, but you can’t keep calling me a woman. I got four kids, one on the way. You can’t keep calling me a woman.”

“I wasn’t using profanity, and for him to walk 12 feet off the court to come and get in my face like that, it was a little unnerving,” the fan said, as per the report.

The whole thing seems a little bit overblown, and thankfully, the situation didn’t escalate too much. The taunts clearly affected Draymond, which is surprising considering how often he is provoked. Overall, it seems like the biggest victim here is Reese, who caught some unnecessary flak in the process.
