The biggest controversy happened during the Philadelphia Eagles 16-9 win on Sunday night football against the Detroit Lions. On a third-and-8 play, Jalen Hurts threw a pass intended for A.J. Brown and it was ruled incomplete, but it was ruled “pass interference” on Lions cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. There were a lot of NFL fans that were outraged by the penalty.

Many people ever wonder if the NFL holds its officiating accountable ever. Well, NFL analyst Albert Breer was frustrated about what transpired during the Lions and Eagles game last night. Breer believes that it is time to start all over in the referees department.
He said on his Twitter page,
“I’ll reiterate my stance: Officiating needs to be torn down to the studs. They need to rebuild it with the technology that’s now available. What they’ve done instead—which is to continually add on to what they already have, and overcomplicate everything—clearly isn’t working.”
He is 100 percent correct about this. Officiating in this league no doubt favors certain teams more than others and this has been going on for many decades. With the way sports gambling has influenced games, there is no question that people probably think that NFL referees gamble on games.
With that being said, the NFL officiating needs to get its act together. This offseason, the NFL needs to fix its officiating act and Breer’s 100 percent correct about this by the way.
