Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal was named College Player of the Year in 1991 and selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA Draft. Over his 19-season career, the 15-time All-Star played for six teams, won four championships and earned the NBA MVP Award in 2000. After retiring in 2011, he became an analyst on TNT’s Inside the NBA, creating the popular segment Shaqtin’ a Fool. O'Neal also founded the fast-casual chain Big Chicken and the annual music festival Shaq’s Fun House and is involved in philanthropy through his Shaquille O’Neal Foundation. In his personal life, he is a father of six and was married to Shaunie O'Neal from 2002 to 2011.

He was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 1992, and over his 19-season career, he also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.

Considered one of the most dominant centers ever, O'Neal earned four NBA championships (three with the Lakers and one with the Heat), three Finals MVPs, an MVP award and 15 All-Star selections.

He and ex-wife Shaunie welcomed four children: sons Shareef and Shaqir and daughters Amirah and Me'arah. He also has a stepson, Myles, from her prior relationship, and a daughter, Taahirah, with ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh.

Shaquille O'Neal received the 2024 Muhammad Ali Humanitarian of the Year Award for his philanthropic work.
