With there not long now until the January transfer window opens, clubs are starting to plan ahead so they can make the moves they want before any competition joins the race.
Liverpool will be no different, although they might also see some players go, with one of these potentially being Chiesa.

Despite their run of bad form, as well as the Italian making a difference when he comes onto the pitch, he has barely had any minutes, which is why he is tipped with a mid-season departure.
He is not short of suitors either, with there already being one club making their move, leaving the 28-year-old with a big decision to make.

Napoli are exploring a move for Federico Chiesa
Chiesa’s lack of minutes last season almost meant he moved in the summer, but instead he stayed and tried to fight for his place.
Although many would argue that he is doing a good job, he cannot seem to win Arne Slot over, which is why a move may have to happen for the sake of his career.
And according to NapoliMagazine and journalist Emanuele Cammaroto, “discussions are underway” at Napoli over making a potential move for the Italian.

Napoli are said to want a loan move in January, while the Reds would only consider letting him go if that included an obligation to buy.

Minutes-wise, this could be a good move for Chiesa, especially as he already knows the league, but Liverpool might be silly to let him go given that they do not have too many options in this department.
Gennaro Gattuso wants Federico Chiesa to return to Italy
Another reason why he might opt to move is because it is a World Cup year, so he needs game time to better his chances of being picked.
He would have been selected for Italy during the current international break, but Chiesa turned down Gennaro Gattuso’s offer.
The Italian head coach is said to want Chiesa back in Serie A, though, so that he is sharp and ready for the tournament in June.
Whether this happens or not will not be known for a little while just yet, but what is, is that Chiesa and Liverpool need to think long and hard before rushing into any decision.
