Shedeur got his chance against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday when starter Dillon Gabriel left the game at halftime with a concussion. He had been the backup all season without seeing any game action.
Pilar was there to witness it firsthand. She posted her immediate reaction from the stands, exclaiming “He’s in! He’s in.” She recorded his first completed pass while cheering “toss that sucker.” She added, “Now let’s go to work baby, go to work whoo.”
She hasn’t missed a Browns game this season. You’ll find her in the stands next to Shilo, decked out in custom gear cheering on her rookie QB son. Her lofty expectations shows despite Shedeur spending the entire season on the bench.
The former Colorado signal-caller played under his father, Deion Sanders, before entering the 2025 NFL draft. Many expected him to be picked in the first round, but he dramatically slid down to the fifth round.
His NFL debut against the Ravens also came after lots of drama. But it didn’t end with celebration ultimately. Shedeur struggled in his first action, and Pilar had plenty to say about how the Browns handled her son’s first opportunity.

However, Pilar didn’t hold back her criticism of the Browns’ preparation. She called out head coach Kevin Stefanski for admitting Sanders never got first-team reps during practice. Pilar asked, “How you gonna let that happen? You don’t know what’s gonna happen in the game.”
Despite her anger at the coaching staff, Mama Sanders continued to encourage son throughout the rough outing. She told him to shake off the poor performance and play his game. “My baby just needs to play his ball,” she said, urging him to do what he does best rather than force anything.
She said that the Browns wouldn’t set her baby up for failure, adding that the family knows how to work around difficult situations.
