The Green Bay Packers may need to unleash quarterback Jordan Love. Their running game was inefficient even before Josh Jacobs suffered a knee injury in Week 11 against the New York Giants, so they may not have much of a choice but to open up the passing attack.

However, it’ll take a collective effort. As much as the quarterback should be the most important player on the team, the receivers also need to hold up their end of the bargain.

However, a concerning stat has emerged about the Packers’ pass catchers.

“Jordan Love is 6-13 today. Of his 7 incompletions, 5 have been drops. I really don’t know what else he’s supposed to do,” Ryan Wood wrote on X.

Romeo Doubs had cut down his drops from last season, but he had two against the Giants. Tight end Luke Musgrave also failed to step up in Tucker Kraft’s injury absence.

Granted, Love isn’t perfect, and he’s going to make mistakes. He tends to overthrow his receivers, and he needs to do a better job of combining touch with velocity.

That being said, his wide receivers can get open, and he’s finding them. Unfortunately, that hasn’t always led to big plays.

The Packers’ offense has been too conservative this season, and they must make the most of the opportunities they get to move the chains. Love is a gunslinger, and as such, he’s never going to hesitate to let the ball fly. Now, it’ll be up to his pass catchers to take advantage of that strategy.
