Ja Morant out multiple weeks with calf injury

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Grizzlies star Point Guard Ja Morant is set to miss multiple weeks of action with an injury.

The Grizzlies announced Morant suffered a grade 1 calf strain during the Grizzlies’ loss to the Cavaliers on Saturday.

Morant will be re-evaluated in about two weeks.

The absence comes as the Grizzlies are 4-10 following four straight losses. The team has lost 8 out of their last 10.

Backup point guard Scotty Pippen Jr also remains sidelined, along with rotation players Brandon Clarke and Ty Jerome.

On the plus side, starting Center Zach Edey returned to the lineup Saturday, putting up 13 points in 25 minutes.
