Tony Bellew says he's starting to become worried one Everton player could leave in January

Former world champion boxer and Everton supporter Tony Bellew is slightly concerned that one Everton star could leave in the January transfer window.

The winter transfer window is approaching rapidly, and Everton are in the process of identifying transfer targets.

Alan Myers reckons David Moyes will target three players; a centre-forward, a central midfielder and a full-back.

As well as incomings, there could also be some outgoings. Adam Aznou has been linked with a loan move away, and James Garner is also attracting interest.

And, Tony Bellew is becoming worried that one of Moyes’ best players could be snatched.

Tony Bellew worried Iliman Ndiaye could leave

Speaking to talkSPORT on Monday, Bellew admitted that he’s becoming a bit concerned that Iliman Ndiaye could leave after his sensational performances this season.

“Ndiaye is just next level,” Bellew said. “I’m just praying none of these vultures come calling for him at Christmas time.

“He’s so exciting to watch. I haven’t seen a player in the Premier League who’s got a willingness to defend as much as he has to get forward.”

Everton turned down mega bid for Iliman Ndiaye in the summer

The Friedkin Group have already shown a willingness to back Moyes by giving him over £100m to spend in the summer.

The Everton owners also turned down a huge bid for Ndiaye, as Inter Milan saw their £40m bid swiftly rejected.

According to CIES Football Observatory’s data, Ndiaye is the club’s most valuable player as he’s worth around £56m.

It would likely take offers in excess of £70m to even bring Everton to the negotiating table, and that kind of money is unlikely to be thrown around in January.

So Everton should be able to retain Ndiaye’s signature for now, although they should tie him down to new and improved terms.

He deserves to be among the best-paid players at the club.
