The Seattle Seahawks‘ winning streak came to an end against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. Quarterback Sam Darnold left plenty to be desired with a four-turnover game.

Even so, as tough as the Rams’ defense made it for the Seahawks, Jaxon Smith-Njigba performed to his usual level. He had nine receptions on 12 targets for 105 receiving yards, making NFL history in the process.

“Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the first player in NFL history to record 75+ receiving yards in 10 straight games to begin a season,” Dianna Russini wrote on X.

Smith-Njigba would be the leading candidate to win Offensive Player of the Year almost every season but this one. Unfortunately for him, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor might hold the edge over him.

Yet, what Smith-Njigba is doing is very impressive. The third-year player has 72 receptions for 1,146 yards and five touchdowns, an average of 114.6 yards per game. On top of that, he’s been a factor out of the backfield, with five carries for 33 yards.

Some people might think of the Seahawks as flawed contenders after the loss to the Rams. Darnold’s four interceptions sounded the alarms, given his long history of big-game struggles.

That being said, Seattle should always have a chance to win for as long as Smith-Njigba is out there. He’s become almost impossible to stop, and he could become the first player in NFL history with 2,000 receiving yards in a single season.
