The Boston Celtics welcomed a special guest to the Auerbach Center on Monday. Isaiah Thomas made an appearance at practice, and took time to commemorate the occasion with a post to X — which included a picture of the training facility that opened just months prior to his eventual departure from the franchise. “Back at the Crib,” Thomas wrote. Thomas spent parts of just three seasons with the franchise, but became an icon among the fanbase after making two All-Star appearances and averaging 24.7 points and 6.0 assists per game while leading them to an appearance in the 2017 Eastern Conference Finals. Thomas has since played for the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars, though he was not retained following the end of last season.
