Patrick Talks The Day After Week 11 Victory vs. Chargers: "We showed we're a good team…"

Coen called learning how the team responds to adversity "part of the journey of being in this role, and being in this organization."

"You're able to learn every week," he said. "In life, just like in football, the best lessons usually come when you go through something hard. That not only helps us as players and as coaches and as a team, it helps us as people grow and learn. That's ultimately the essence of sport.

"What makes these guys respond? What helps them get to the place they have to get to mentally to go play a game like we just did? You're finding new things about your team every week. It is part of the journey. You want to be able to see that kind of level of execution, passion and energy every week. That's the standard. That's the opportunity we have.

"That's the challenge, though, of coaching and playing in the NFL – is doing it week in and week out."

The Jaguars, winners of two of their last three games, remain two games behind the Indianapolis Colts (8-2) in the AFC South with two games remaining against the Colts. They are currently in the seventh and final "playoff" spot in the AFC.

"Playing meaningful games in November and December are earned opportunities," Coen said. "The way that we go and approach each week is what gives us the opportunity and that right. We all see how we have to prepare and play for us to have success."
