Report: Everton won't face £66m Manchester United player at Old Trafford amid injury blow

Everton take on Manchester United in the Premier League next week, but the Red Devils have been hit with a blow.

The final international break of 2025 is coming to an end, and Premier League action will mercifully return.

Everton beat Fulham last time out and will hope to take that form into the meeting with Manchester United.

David Moyes takes on his former employers next Monday night, as Everton travel to Old Trafford.

A win would take Everton level on points with United in the Premier League table, and Ruben Amorim will be without an important player.

Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko to miss Everton clash

Everton will hope to see international players return to Merseyside unscathed after their commitments with their countries.

United actually had an injury concern heading into the break, as striker Benjamin Sesko picked up an injury against Tottenham Hotspur.

Sesko has missed Slovenia’s games in this international break, with United left sweating over his fitness.

Sky Sports now report that Sesko will be out for up to a month, meaning he will miss the clash with Everton.

United paid an initial £66million to sign Sesko over the summer, luring him away from RB Leipzig in the process.

Sesko has only scored twice in 11 Premier League games so far, but he would have been a threat to the Everton back line.

How Manchester United could now line up against Everton

Sesko’s injury means Ruben Amorim must rethink his approach with the United line-up.

Everton target Joshua Zirkzee could slot into the United attack, though his opportunities have been limited this season.

Zirkzee has played just 82 Premier League minutes this season and hasn’t even started a league game, so he may not be the man to replace Sesko.

When Sesko sat on the bench against Liverpool, Mason Mount came into the side with Matheus Cunha playing up top.

Bryan Mbeumo floated into that role as well, giving United a flexible front three.

Moyes must now attempt to plan for a changed United attack, one which will pose different questions to a front line with Sesko involved.
