Arsenal Are Prepared To Launch A Move For This La Liga Striker: Should Arteta Snap Him Up?

In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Arsenal are prepared to launch a move for Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong. It has been stated that the Gunners are ready to make a €40m move to land the Cameroonian talent next year.

Eyong’s Impressive Form In La Liga

Eyong has enjoyed a fine run of form at the Spanish club as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 22-year-old has registered six goals and secured three assists in 12 matches for Levante this season in multiple competitions.

The Cameroonian sensation has led the line well for the Spanish outfit and deserves credit for averaging 2.49 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 50% of his attempts on target. However, Eyong has to find a way to improve his ball distribution after completing 69.4% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, it would be tough for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap next year.

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Snap Eyong Up?

Eyong is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes on target. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Cameroonian talent can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Gunners manage to bring him on board next year.

We can expect Eyong to bring more firepower to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He is good enough to serve as a good back-up to Viktor Gyokeres and is more than capable of fighting for a regular starting place at the North London club in the coming years.

At 22, Eyong has got the potential to be a success story in English football in the long run. Therefore, Arteta would be wise to try everything in his power to snap him up this January or next summer.
