The Bucs began Sunday’s loss against the Bills immediately behind the eight ball as starting cornerback Jamel Dean was injured two plays into the game. Dean did not return for the rest of the game as he was ruled out with a hip injury.

It was a tough blow for Tampa Bay as Dean has been the best corner for the defense with three interceptions, including a pick-six, and two forced fumbles. In his replacement was Benjamin Morrison, who was repeatedly picked on for the second week in a row as the Bucs gave up 44 points to Josh Allen and the Bills offense. With the exception of two interceptions, [it was a poor effort by the defense.](http://<p>Bucs HC Todd Bowles Gives Injury Update On Jamel Dean</p><p>A day after the game Bucs head coach Todd Bowles and the team were back in Tampa as Bowles gave an injury update for Dean.</p><p>“He’s got a hip flexor strain,” Bowles said. “Right now he’s day to day. He missed just one game earlier, plus yesterday’s game after playing just two snaps. Hopefully he won’t be out for too long as his production has been important to Tampa Bay’s success.</p><p>If Dean were to miss some time, it might be a better idea for the Bucs to place Jacob Parrish or veteran Kindle Vildor at outside corner instead of Morrison. Missing most of training camp and some games this season has put Morrison in catch-up mode trying to find a fit in this defense. The last two weeks he’s allowed big touchdowns to the Patriots and Bills. He’s played a little outside corner, too, this season when Dean was out against the Seahawks and Zyon McCollum was out against the 49ers. Vildor also played outside corner in those games and recorded an interception against San Francisco that would’ve been a pick-six had he kept his footing.</p><p>Tampa Bay would have to find someone else to play in the slot if they moved Parrish, but Christian Izien hasn’t played a lot lately and would be a viable option.</p><p>More Injury Updates For Bucs Players</p><p>It sounded like there might be more injuries that occurred from Sunday’s game, but Bowles does have all the information just yet.</p><p>“Quite a few,” Bowles said. “They’re getting tests run, but I’ll have a better update later on.” He didn’t specify which players he was talking about.</p><p>Bucs Wr Chris Godwin Jr.</p><p>Bucs WR Chris Godwin Jr. – Photo by: Cliff Welch/PR</p><p>Of course even before this game all the talk was about running back Bucky Irving and wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. They practiced all of last week in a limited capacity, but weren’t able to go for the game. This week they’ll ramp it up even more.</p><p>“They’ll get worked in more,” Bowles said. “They’ll get worked in more and get more reps. Then we’ll evaluate them as the week goes on. It also comes at a time where the Bucs have failed to generate pressure on the edge against the better teams.
