The Jacksonville Jaguars' defensive front has some big names across it, from seven-year veteran and fan-favorite Josh Hines-Allen to former No. 1 draft pick Travon Walker—was selected above Detroit Lions defensive end Aiden Hutchinson. Last year, the team's brass added long-time 49er, defensive tackle Arik Armstead, who appeared in two Super Bowls.
And still, Jacksonville is struggling to get to the quarterback, entering Week 11 with only 12 sacks on the season. One of the key storylines entering their matchup against Los Angeles was the Chargers' lackluster offensive line, which had given up 34 sacks in the weeks prior. The Jaguars seized their opportunity, sacking quarterback Justin Herbert three times, hurrying him on 11 of 18 dropbacks, and hitting him twice. Add in five tackles for a loss, and the defensive front created a lot of negative plays.

Rookie defensive lineman BJ Green II is robbed of his first sack
The accolades are even more impressive when you consider the Jaguars gave their two rookie linemen plenty of playing time. While Danny Striggow was able to get credit for a half-sack in the game, BJ Green II got his sack called back for—let's be honest—a terrible roughing the passer call. For reference, you can see it below:

I'm not really sure what else he's supposed to do. Maybe nobody informed the refs that football is a contact sport. Even still, Green can clearly be seen coming down beside Herbert in an attempt not to come down with his body weight atop him. I suppose it's not going to be too long before we start wrapping quarterbacks in styrofoam. The rookie pass rusher voiced his thoughts after the game. And I've got to hand it to the rookie: He was far more diplomatic than I might have been in my answer.
"I play fast," Green said. "I [got] a low center of gravity. I'm gonna come around the edge [and] bend the corner. Unfortunately, it ain't go in my favor, but I'm not gonna change anything. I'm not gonna change the way I play. I play the game fast and physical. My vets re-emphasized the same thing to me, 'don't change a thing.' So, you know, I feel real good, reassured, that I'm playing the game the right way. It ain't come in my way...but it still makes me hungry to go and get that first one."
Final thoughts
The Jaguars' pass rush still has a way to go before it lives up to its potential, but the two fierce and hungry rookies seem to be becoming future mainstays the fans can count on. Take away the poor call, and the rookies would have accounted for 1.5 sacks on Sunday. Will we see more of Green on the field next week?
Here's hoping that he gets his first sack soon.
