If the San Francisco 49ers offense had fallen flat against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11, then quarterback Brock Purdy likely would have had an understandable excuse.
It would have been easy to blame any would-be struggles on the turf-toe injury he suffered way back in Week 1 and reaggravated again in Week 4.
But Purdy and the Niners offense didn't struggle at Arizona last Sunday, putting up a season-high 41 points in the quarterback's first on-field action since Week 4 in which he tossed three touchdowns against zero interceptions, helping San Francisco achieve its seventh win of the season.
Putting it bluntly, it couldn't have gone much better for Purdy and Co.
Brock Purdy declared his toe didn't bother him at all in 49ers' win over Cardinals
Speaking to reporters after the game, Purdy was asked whether or not his turf-toe injury was a factor at all.
"No, I didn’t even think about it, honestly, in the game or anything," Purdy responded. "At practice and everything, that’s where I tested it all out. I’m like, at practice, rolling out, 'All right, do I feel it, do I not?' No, I don’t, I feel great.
"And then come [game-time] when I warmed up and everything, I didn’t even think about it. It felt great. Throughout the game and stuff, I was able to do everything — scramble, keepers, roll-outs, step up in the pocket. I played quarterback."
While Purdy opted not to display his rushing prowess in the game, he did occasionally roll out from the pocket to extend plays, and there didn't seem to be any issues with his ball delivery.
It's clearly good news, given the fact head coach Kyle Shanahan earlier declared the injury would likely impact his quarterback for the rest of the season in some form or another.
If that impact isn't even noticed, then it's clearly a good thing for Purdy and a resurgent 49ers offense.
