How to Watch New York Knicks at Miami Heat
Short-handed New York erupted for 46 points in the second quarter to take control on Friday night, posting a 140-132 win over the Heat to get to 1-1 in NBA Cup East Group C. Jalen Brunson missed the game with a sprained right ankle, and OG Anunoby left in the first quarter with a strained left hamstring and did not return. But Karl-Anthony Towns powered the Knicks with 39 points and 11 rebounds, and Landry Shamet came off the bench for a career-high 36 points. Josh Hart had a triple-double off the bench with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Jordan Clarkson scored 24 points.
Norman Powell's season-high 38 points led the Heat, who are still without center Bam Adebayo (sprained toe). Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 23 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, Kel'el Ware went for 15 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots, and Davion Mitchell finished with 11 points and 11 assists. It was Miami's second straight loss.
Anunoby will miss at least two weeks with the hamstring injury, while Brunson is listed as out for Monday night. The teams have split their first two meetings of the season, with Miami taking a 115-107 win in New York on Oct. 26. Abebayo remains out for the Heat on Monday night, who are still waiting for Tyler Herro to return from offseason surgery on his left ankle.
