Cowboys Oddly Benched CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens to Start Raiders Game

The Dallas Cowboys are facing off against the Las Vegas Raiders, and the team is hoping to bounce back from a two-game losing streak. While they are trying to get things going, the team oddly chose to bench CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in the first offensive series.

Per multiple reports, the Cowboys benched both Lamb and Pickens as a coach’s decision. Brian Schottenheimer is likely to face many questions regarding this confusing decision, as the team went three-and-out.

There is no telling what led Schottenheimer to bench his top two offensive playmakers, but there must have been something that occurred in pregame or right before kickoff that led to such an odd decision. Reports have no further explanation, and Lisa Salters indicated on the telecast that everyone is unsure if the decision was disciplinary in nature.

The decision to bench both players might come back to haunt the Cowboys, as their first offensive series did not produce much of anything. Following the Las Vegas Raiders’ first series, Dallas took the field again and Dak Prescott fumbled the ball.

At the time of this writing, the score is now 3-0 in favor of the Raiders. Granted, there is plenty of football left to play, but should the Raiders win by three points, everyone may look back to the start of this game.

Dallas is currently 3-5-1 and needs a big win to rebound. They cannot afford many mistakes, even against a “worse” opponent in the Raiders. Lamb and Pickens not being out on the field might have been that kind of mistake.
