CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were noticeably absent from the Cowboys’ opening drive against the Raiders on Monday Night Football, and it wasn’t due to injury.
According to The Athletic, both receivers were held out for disciplinary reasons stemming from internal team matters earlier in the week.
Dallas enters this part of the 2025 season at 3-5-1, sitting second in the NFC East but already facing uphill odds to secure a playoff berth. Lamb’s campaign to reclaim elite form has been turbulent. Through six games, he registered 35 receptions for 491 yards and just a single touchdown, well below his lofty standards.
The ankle injury he suffered earlier this season only compounded questions around consistency, though he did post a 110-yard, 1-touchdown performance in a 44-22 win over the Washington Commanders.
Meanwhile, Pickens has emerged as a true breakout candidate. After joining Dallas in an offseason trade, he currently leads the team with 49 catches for 764 yards and six TDs through nine games, among the best in the league when healthy.
