Portland Trail Blazers starting guard Jrue Holiday is doubtful to play against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night due to right calf soreness, the organization announced Monday.
The same ailment caused Holiday to miss Portland’s 138-133 road loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. It marked the first game the 35-year-old veteran has missed this season. In 12 appearances this season, Holiday has averaged 16.7 points, 8.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 44.6% from the field and 36.5% on 3s.
If Holiday is unable to go against Phoenix, the Blazers will once again be extraordinarily thin at the point guard spot, with Scoot Henderson (left hamstring tear) and Blake Wesley (right foot fracture) also still out of the lineup.
The Blazers’ matchup against the Suns will mark their return to the Moda Center after a rough 1-4 road trip. Tipoff is a late one, scheduled for 8 p.m. Pacific.
