Cardi B and her NFL star boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, are celebrating a major life milestone. The rapper has just welcomed their first child together: a baby boy. This new arrival marks a fresh chapter in their relationship, one that’s unfolded publicly over the past year. Known for her bold lyrics and unapologetic style, Cardi is balancing this deeply personal moment with the promotion of her new album, while Stefon is bringing his own high-profile energy from the football field into fatherhood. Unfortunately, Stefon is now dealing with a lawsuit, as he’s suing an influencer over assault allegations. Here’s what to know.
Cardi B’s boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, filed a lawsuit against a social media influencer
Stefon Diggs is making headlines for more than just his relationship with Cardi B. According to TMZ, the NFL player filed a lawsuit on Oct. 1, 2025, against “would-be social media influencer” Christopher Blake Griffith. The lawsuit states that Griffith falsified a story about him, which includes Stefon allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting Griffith and then conspiring to have him killed to “suppress his gay/bisexual secrets from becoming exposed.”
According to Stefon, Griffith posted the allegations to his tens of thousands of followers. The influencer also tagged the NFL and Patriots’ social media accounts to increase visibility. Not only that, but Griffith allegedly tagged UGG because the apparel brand sponsors Stefon.
Stefon’s libel lawsuit alleges that Griffith intentionally lied about the allegations to gain clout online. Ultimately, the accusations against Stefon allegedly hurt his reputation. Stefon now seeks damages and attorneys’ fees.
Griffith’s attorney, Jake Lebowitz, provided a statement to TMZ. “Mr. Griffith is looking forward to showing the world in Court that regardless of the fairy tale fabricated by Mr. Diggs’ high-priced New York Lawyers, he is the victim of Mr. Diggs’ unwanted sexual advances and his brother’s violent attacks,” the statement reads.
Christopher Blake Griffith previously sued Stefon Diggs’ brother
Stefon Diggs’ fans may know Christopher Blake Griffith’s name. The NFL player’s brother, Darez Diggs, was sued by Griffith following a violent incident in May 2023 that was captured on surveillance footage. The episode reportedly took place in a Los Angeles apartment building. According to the lawsuit, Griffith exited an elevator on the 16th floor, exchanged words with Darez, and then entered the elevator again, only for others to join the scene and allegedly assault him.
During the attack, the lawsuit claims, the assailants ripped chains from Griffith’s neck and stole jewelry reportedly worth about $100,000. Following the incident, Griffith filed a civil suit against Darez Diggs for emotional distress, as well as compensation for the jewelry and other property he said was taken.
Legally, Darez avoided prison time. He cut a deal, pleaded no contest to a single felony count of grand theft, and was sentenced to two years of probation, plus 20 hours of community labor, according to TMZ. As part of that plea agreement, prosecutors dropped an additional robbery charge.
Cardi B defended her boyfriend from the allegations
Cardi B has fiercely defended Stefon Diggs after Chris Blake Griffith came forward with serious sexual assault allegations. In response to social-media posts and resurfaced interviews, Cardi blasted the claims.
“Chris lied because he was stealing and got caught … there’s receipts for that,” Cardi posted to X, according to Sportskeeda. She also accused Griffith of fabricating stories in the past, claiming he previously made false allegations against boxer Gervonta Davis and had “changed the story 1,000 times.”
In a public back‑and‑forth with rapper JT, who re-posted Griffith’s interview, Cardi shared screenshots and chat logs, asserting she had concrete evidence (“receipts”) to discredit the accusations.
