Former Premier League player Troy Deeney believes that Chelsea currently have only one ‘real top quality winger’ in their squad.
This is an opinion that will cause some real debate, I am sure of that. I don’t think he’s necessarily wrong with that big claim. It might be the state of play right now, but there is a chance that the wingers we do have, can prove to become ‘real top quality’ very soon because they are young.

Chelsea have Alejandro Garnacho, who has been in some decent form in the last couple of games, Jamie Gittens, who is struggling a bit more at the moment yes, Estevao Willian, who is absolutely balling out right now, and Pedro Neto, who to be honest is a very decent all round player to have in the team but I’m not sure you can say he’s a world beater as such.
Let’s go back to Estevao though but before we do, we should read what Deeney has said…

Appearing on talkSPORT, he said: “They [Chelsea] have got the young kid Estevao who’s going to be an absolute monster. I remember at the Club World Cup, we did a show with [Jose] Kleberson and he said to us at that time that this is the next Neymar, and it was a massive statement.
“But he wasn’t one of like him trying to just pick up a South American. He was like telling us he’s the next Neymar. Since then obviously I kept an eye on him and he’s been fantastic.”
Deeney isn’t as convinced by his teammates, though.
He continues: “But he’s the only real top quality winger you’ve got at the moment out of the four or five that you’ve got.”
Estevao shines
Chelsea apparently believe Estevao will become one of the top ten players in world football. And that comes fresh after some heavy praise from Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti earlier this week!
