The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t have a great start to their week on Monday. Apart from suffering a 118-106 loss on the road to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee also saw superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo leave in the second quarter of the contest with a lower-body injury. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player exited the game with an apparent groin injury and did not return.
The exact extent of Antetokounmpo’s injury remains up in the air, as he’s yet to go through all the necessary tests.
However, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers revealed following the game that Antetokounmpo will have a medical procedure to help determine the exact nature of the “Greek Freak’s” injury.

Losing Antetokounmpo for any period would be a significant blow to Milwaukee, which had just lost back-to-back games for the first time in the 2025-26 NBA regular season. Before the Cavs game, Milwaukee got blown out at home over the weekend by Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers to the tune of a 119-95 score.
Before he was ruled out for the rest of the Cleveland contest, Antetokounmpo scored 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field with five rebounds and four assists, while also committing five turnovers in 13 minutes of action.
Ryan Rollins paced the Bucks with 24 points, while Myles Turner added 15 points and seven boards.
