53-year-old Paul Doyle, of Burghill Road, West Derby, faces 31 charges after a car drove into fans on Water Street on May 26.

Merseyside Police said 134 people were injured in the incident, which occurred shortly after 6.00pm.

Doyle is due at Liverpool Crown Court at 2.00pm today (November 18), for a pre-trial mention hearing.

In September, Doyle entered not guilty pleas to dangerous driving, affray, 18 charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, nine counts of causing GBH with intent, and two counts of wounding with intent.

The allegations relate to 29 victims, aged between six months and 77 years.

A trial is set to begin on Tuesday (November 25), with the case expected to last three to four weeks.
