African football fans are set to gather for one of the continent’s most prestigious nights as the 2025 CAF Awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco.

The glittering event will begin at 7:00 PM local Moroccan time, which translates to 6:00 PM GMT for viewers in the United Kingdom.

Held at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, the ceremony will honour the standout performers who have graced African football over the past year.

Predictably, Mohamed Salah leads a three-man shortlist for the coveted African Player of the Year award, competing against Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, currently starring for Galatasaray.

Salah enjoyed another remarkable campaign with Liverpool, finishing as the 2024-25 Premier League Golden Boot winner with 29 goals while helping the Reds claim their record-tying 20th league title.

The 33-year-old Egyptian is a previous winner of the award in 2018.

Hakimi’s nomination comes on the back of a historic season with PSG, where he helped the French giants win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title and complete the domestic treble.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has been in devastating form for Galatasaray, though several of his headline performances—including a Champions League hat-trick against Ajax—fall outside the assessment window.

For supporters eager to witness the moment one of these three stars is crowned, accessibility won’t be an issue.

The ceremony will be broadcast free of charge on beIN Sports News channel and the Moroccan Open Sport channel.

More conveniently for UK-based fans who may not have access to these television channels, beIN Sports will stream the entire event free through their official Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube accounts.

In other categories, the nominees for the Best Goalkeeper award in Africa 2025 reflect a strong continental lineup, with Mounir Al-Mohammadi set to compete alongside his fellow Moroccan international and Al-Hilal shot-stopper Yassine Bounou, as well as South Africa’s Ronwyn Williams.

Meanwhile, the Best Coach award in Africa 2025’s shortlist include Cape Verde’s Popista, who masterminded the country’s historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup, alongside Morocco’s national team manager Walid Regraki.

Also included is Mohamed Ouhabi, who guided Morocco’s U-20 team to World Cup glory.
