Liverpool star Alexander Isak has been given a "simple fix" to his game by a former Manchester United striker in order to regain his form. The Sweden international, who was signed from Newcastle United for a whopping £125million on deadline day, has struggled to replicate the same success he enjoyed at St James' Park last season.
Since his high-profile move to Anfield, Isak has only managed to find the back of the net once, spending much of the season either working on his fitness or recovering from an injury.
The 26-year-old hasn't featured in any of Liverpool's last five matches under Arne Slot, but was on the subs bench during their 3-0 loss to title rivals Manchester City before November's international break.
With Premier League football is set to resume this weekend - which will see Liverpool host Nottingham Forest at Anfield - Dwight Yorke has offered some words of wisdom to the striker.
The former Man Utd player - who scored 123 goals in the Premier League throughout his career - reckons that Isak needs to make just one change to his game.
"Alexander Isak doesn't need to do everything that he did at Newcastle," Yorke said in an interview with Snabbare. "He's got to fit in and recognise the quality around him at Liverpool.
"He simply has to play as the No.9. Be up there, hold the ball up, and get yourself into good goal-scoring positions because, at the end of the day, you've got to get the goals.
"When I played for Aston Villa, I used to come deep and link the play. Isak for Newcastle would come deep, dribble out into the wide areas and go past one or two defenders.
"He doesn't need to do all that for Liverpool. They have got flying wingers to take care of it for him, like Mohamed Salah, and a midfield with real quality behind him.

"That's the problem for Isak. Don't come deep.
"When you start to do all of that stuff, and you feel like you're that player, you end up losing time that you didn't need to spend on those parts of your game.
"He has to recognise that he doesn't need to do so much as an individual. Just be in your position.
"Put in the legwork. Do the simple things well.
"That means holding up the ball, linking up play and making sure that his teammates can find him in the box. It's a simple fix. It's not complicated."
