Cam Skattebo won’t be back on the field at MetLife this season, but that didn’t stop the Giants rookie running back from getting into some of the action at WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.
Skattebo, who suffered a season ending ankle injury in Week 8, was sitting ringside with some of his teammates and comedian Andrew Schulz when the wresting trio “Judgment Day,” — Finn Balor, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio — got into an argument with the group.
It began when Mysterio taunted Schulz for the lack of recent championships in New York.
“The only good thing that’s coming out of New York City is standing right in front of you,” Mysterio said. “The only champion New York has seen in … can you count, Cam? How many years? He don’t know. He can’t count.”
Schulz tried to take back the mic, then Mysterio shoved him down into his chair. That’s when the Giants jumped out of their seats, and Skattebo got right in Mysterio’s face. Then McDonagh started jawing at Skattebo before the running back threw him to the ground.
You can watch the brawl here.
Fellow rookie Abdul Carter was among the Giants in attendance with Skattebo.
Through eight games before going down with the ankle injury against the Eagles, Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries.
“Thank you everyone for the support!!” Skattebo wrote on X after his surgery. “Surgery went well. I just want to thank the city of Philly for taking the best care of me. Every moment I spent in the hospital with family and friends I felt loved and supported in every way thank you to the doctors, surgeons, and staff that did their best work on me. This is just the beginning of my journey and I can’t wait to show you guys all about it!!! GOD has a plan for me , stick the course and it will all work itself out , BRB”
