Dak Prescott pays tribute to Marshawn Kneeland, shares powerful message after Cowboys’ Mnf win

The Dallas Cowboys returned from their bye week and claimed a 33-16 road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football to improve their record to 4-5-1 this NFL season.

However, the game and the result was not at the forefront of the Cowboys players’ minds after the tragic death of their teammate Marshawn Kneeland.

Dak’s powerful message

Following the game, Cowboys star QB Dak Prescott put things into perspective as he reflected on the loss of Kneeland and discussed the things that truly matter in life.

“It’s one of these moments you realize this is just a game. And life is what’s important and our connections, our relationships,” Prescott said during his postgame press conference.

“You know, what we say to each other, how we can lift each other up. How we can be a helping hand, how we can be a true neighbor, a true brother, a true sister and love another. One love like Marshawn, right, lived by…that’s what makes life beautiful.”

Overall, Prescott is hopeful that moving forward, we can all remember that the way we treat others is more important than any game any NFL player will ever play in.

“Hopefully we can all continue to look at our neighbors, look at ourselves and ask how can we be better, how can we help better them,” he said. “And just a moment, like I said, to understand that it’s much bigger than this game. And it’s about life.”

While Dallas will be hoping they can also honor Kneeland with their play on the field the rest of the year, Prescott ultimately said it best. It is just a game at the end of the day, and a human being and teammate like Marshawn Kneeland will never be replaced and forgotten in the hearts of his family, friends and Cowboys teammates.
