The NBA has reportedly contacted Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green after he confronted a New Orleans Pelicans fan on Sunday night.
"The NBA has issued a warning to Golden State's Draymond Green for his interaction with a vocal fan in New Orleans on Sunday night, a source tells ESPN," Shams Charania posted on X. "No fine. The fan was chanting 'Angel Reese' toward Green, who responded face-to-face as taunts continued."
The exchange went viral and Green was asked Sunday about it in his postgame scrum.
"He just kept calling me a woman," Green said. "You know, it was a good joke at first, but you just can't keep calling me a woman. I have four kids, one on the way. You can't keep calling me a woman. Yeah, he got quiet, though, so it was fine."
Green then had his own questions for reporters during the ensuing follow ups.
"Do I look like a woman?" Green asked. "Do I look like a woman to you?"
"No," the reporter said, "but she is a very good rebounder, though."
"For sure," Green said, "but at least call me − Lisa Leslie was a good rebounder, too. She's older than me. Just don't be disrespectful, it's cool. We move on."
The fan's chant stems from viral clips of Reese, a former LSU star, missing layups and rebounding her own shots in the WNBA. Fans online nicknamed Reese "Mebounds," a name Reese flipped into the unofficial name of her Reebok shoes.
In the first quarter of the Pelicans-Warriors game, the 35-year-old Green missed five consecutive shots at the basket.
