The Golden State Warriors have been considered the villains of the NBA ever since Kevin Durant joined the team in 2017, and they became an unstoppable force. That version of the Warriors seems like a distant memory, as Durant is now with the Houston Rockets and shooting guard Klay Thompson is coming off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks.
However, the other two members of that core, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, are still going strong in the Bay Area. As a matter of fact, if anything, Draymond Green, perhaps the greatest heel in NBA history, has only grown bolder over the years.
Recently, Green even decided to get in the face of a fan after some light heckling during a game. However, it appears that the NBA league offices have finally had enough of Green’s antics and have let him know that it’s time to tone it down, according to one prominent insider.
“The NBA has issued a warning to Golden State’s Draymond Green for his interaction with a vocal fan in New Orleans on Sunday night, source tells ESPN. No fine. The fan was chanting ‘Angel Reese’ toward Green, who responded face-to-face as taunts continued,” reported ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“See now, that is a creative taunt right there, mainly because, like Angel Reese, Draymond Green is more known for his defensive prowess than his touch in the painted area. If you are Draymond, you still need to keep your composure here,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“I understand where the NBA doesn’t want players to engage with the fans BUT the NBA also needs to take in consideration that these fans say the most absurd things to these players,” someone else added.
“NBA wants to avoid a repeat of the Malice at the Palace,” one person wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how Green responds to the warning.
