Aaron Rodgers does not need surgery despite fracturing his left wrist on Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has confirmed.
The NFL legend, 41, was forced off in the second quarter of the Steelers' 34-12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals due to a problem with his non-throwing wrist.
There were initial concerns that he suffered a 'slight break' to his left wrist, and NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero have confirmed that is indeed the case.
However, Tomlin has revealed that he will not be going under the knife and instead left the door open for him to play against the Chicago Bears this Sunday.
'It's about bracing it and securing it for his comfort and safety and then it's about how functional it is,' the Pittsburgh coach said.
Tomlin added that pain tolerance will not be an issue for Rodgers despite the fracture to his wrist.
