Chelsea make the trip north to face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Enzo Maresca’s side currently sit third in the top flight table, having beaten bottom side Wolves comfortably in their last outing.
The Blues have won six of their 11 games in the league so far this term, and will hope to keep the pressure up on both Arsenal and Manchester City by beating the Clarets at Turf Moor on Saturday.
In the meantime, however, it has emerged that the West London giants are hoping to sign an England international at the earliest opportunity.
As reported by indikaila news, Chelsea are hoping to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson as early as the January transfer window.
Anderson has been in fine form for Forest over the past 12 months, having joined Forest from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024.

His impressive displays earned him a full debut for England in September, and the 23-year-old has now been capped six times by the Three Lions.
It is claimed that Chelsea are keen to sign the Englishman when the transfer window reopens in January, and it is also claimed that current Blues midfielder Romeo Lavia could be sold if a suitable price is made.
Lavia, 21, has been plagued by injuries since joining the club from Southampton back in 2023.
The Belgian midfielder has played just 29 times for the Blues across all competitions during his two-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, and he has also missed 88 matches due to injury.
The report appear to suggest that the West London club could be looking to sell Lavia and replace him with Forest star Anderson, perhaps in a bid to bolster Maresca’s squad options.
