The comeback win over Serbia in the semi-final, and Curry’s heroics in the final against France in particular, will go down as some of the greatest all-time moments and games in Olympic basketball history.

Could LeBron and Steph play in 2028 Olympics?

However, basketball fans who were hoping to see James and Curry run it back together for another shot at gold at the 2028 Olympics will likely be disappointed by what LeBron had to say about the prospect of him playing in another Olympic games in LA.

“You already know my answer. So don’t even, don’t even ask. I will be watching it from Cabo,” James said on his Mind the Game podcast, after Steve Nash asked him if he could play in the next Olympics.

Curry, on the other hand, is more open to the idea of playing for Team USA in Los Angeles. Although, the Warriors superstar is unsure if he will still be playing at a high enough level to do so.

“God willing, I still have the choice and…the physical option to be like, I could actually impact the team. Never say never, but I highly doubt it,” Curry said.

Magic in Paris

Overall, it seems like that the games in France in 2024 may have been the only chance we get to see James and Curry share the floor together on the Olympic stage. However, LeBron also feels that they probably couldn’t pull off a run better than the one they went on in Paris.

“We can’t top what we just did. How are we going to top those last two games?” James said.

James has also yet to play in a game for the Lakers this NBA season due to injury, although he hopes to soon make his first outing of the year in what will be his 23rd campaign in the league.
