New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo has a message for critics of his latest appearance outside of football.
The New York Giants have a promising rookie running back in Cam Skattebo, but unfortunately, the player was injured during the team’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road on Sunday, October 26. Having Skattebo sidelined certainly hurts the Giants, and right before he was injured, he was developing great chemistry with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
So, Skattebo is out for the entire rest of the New York Giants‘ season, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the spotlight. On Monday night, November 17, the player made an unexpected appearance on “Monday Night Raw” in front of a packed crowd. During the program, he got in a fight with Dominik Mysterio, and had an appearance from Andrew Shultz.
But, not everyone was so impressed with Skattebo’s appearance. Some New York Giants fans weren’t happy to see him do the event and made their thoughts clear online. “Tell Cam to stay at home we need him 100% next year,” one commenter said on YouTube. Now, Cam is responding.
New York Giants Running Back Cam Skattebo Stands Up to Critics
Skattebo was shaping up to have a fantastic rookie season before his injury. Before getting injured, Skattebo had registered 410 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns on 101 carries, plus 207 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns on 24 receptions, for a total of 617 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns, according to NFL research. He was also the No. 1 of all NFL rookies in scrimmage yards, according to reported numbers from ESPN.
So, it makes sense that New York Giants fans are protective of him and want him to stay healthy. But, for Skattebo, it went too far, and he’s defending his right to do what he wants while he’s recovering.
“Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on,” the running back said on X.
He added, “I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.” Well said, Cam.

His followers tweeted back, and most of them agreed. “I was literally jumping up and down,” one said, adding that he was “so excited” and “might watch wrestling again. Thank you Cam. If you re-injure you re-injure? Can’t live in fear man. As a Giants fan, keep entering me bro.”
Another supportive follower said, “I think it was awesome. Live it up. Been a Giants fan my whole life, and I’m so happy to see enjoyment and spark again on our team. Can’t wait till you’re back.”
One more added, “Keep doing what you need to do to have a good time and stay healthy. Wishing you all the best and much success in finding happiness both inside and outside of football.”
One even went so far to say, “49ers fans would’ve never treated you this way I think you should demand a trade if I’m being honest.” So, we’d better treat him nice, Giants fans.
