Giants running back Cam Skattebo fired back at critics who didn’t like his cameo on WWE on Monday.
In a social media post, after his role in a viral ringside scuffle at a WWE event, he said he’s simply trying to enjoy himself while recovering from a season-ending ankle injury.
“Aye, honestly, if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on,” Skattebo wrote on a post on X/Twitter. “I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life, so I am doing things outside the box, trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.”
Skattebo, who suffered a season ending ankle injury in Week 8, was sitting ringside with some of his teammates and comedian Andrew Schulz when the wrestling trio “Judgment Day,” — Finn Balor, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio — got into an argument with the group.
It began when Mysterio taunted Schulz for the lack of recent championships in New York.
“The only good thing that’s coming out of New York City is standing right in front of you,” Mysterio said. “The only champion New York has seen in … can you count, Cam? How many years? He don’t know. He can’t count.”
Schulz tried to take back the mic, then Mysterio shoved him down into his chair. That’s when the Giants jumped out of their seats, and Skattebo got right in Mysterio’s face. Then McDonagh started jawing at Skattebo before the running back threw him to the ground.
