Saints legend Drew Brees is participating in rivalry game vs. Falcons in a new capacity

New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees is set to be involved in the rivalry matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday in a new way.

Brees will be part of the Fox Sports broadcast crew this weekend in the Caesars Superdome. Brees will be joined by Adam Amin, who will do play-by-play and and sideline reporter Kristina Pink.

Brees made his Fox broadcasting debut on Nov. 16 for the New York Giants-Green Bay Packers game. After previously advocating for himself to be in the broadcast booth, Fox called Brees after former network broadcaster and NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was arrested for an incident in Indianapolis on Oct. 4.

As a player, Brees had a 19-10 career record against the Falcons. He threw for 8,695 passing yards and 54 touchdowns to 27 interceptions in those games. His most notable home game against Atlanta was his first in 2006 on Monday Night Football, headlined by Steve Gleason’s blocked punt in the Saints’ return to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina.

In addition to broadcasting, Brees has been involved in multiple business endeavors, including being the part-owner of the Los Angeles Mad Drops Pickleball Club.

For the current teams on the field, Saints rookie Tyler Shough will start his third game, while the Falcons will be without their second-year quarterback, Michael Penix Jr.
