Eagles' latest playoff picture proves rest of NFL is chasing behind them

The NFL is entering the back stretch of the 2025 regular season with teams starting to talk about playoffs, but the Philadelphia Eagles have bigger goals in mind.

Entering Week 12, the Eagles are currently in first place in the NFC with an 8-2 record, while also leading the NFC East by three games over the Dallas Cowboys. Philly is in a tie with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC, but the Eagles own the tiebreaker after beating the Rams 33-26 back in Week 3.

NFL Next Gen Stats shared their Week 12 playoff odds for each team. The Eagles are cruising with the best odds of any team in the NFL, with over a 99% chance to make the postseason. Coming in second is the Rams, who have a 99% chance as well.

Eagles are cruising into the postseason despite having some issues to resolve

If NFL fans had not seen any of the game or stats and focused only on the Eagles' storylines, they would think Philly hadn't won a single game this season. The Eagles have dealt with drama around A.J. Brown all season, while now dealing with reports that teammates aren't happy with Jalen Hurts.

Despite all that, the Birds have done what they do best, and that's win games. Their only losses this season are to the Denver Broncos, who are the number one seed in the AFC, and the New York Giants, a game in which the Eagles had multiple injuries and were playing on a short week.

The Eagles have looked far from a dominant team this season, with their offense struggling with stats in the bottom 10 of the NFL in total yards, passing, and rushing. Their defense, on the other hand, has been rolling the last two games, holding the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers to just 16 combined points.

There's no telling what the rest of the season will have in store for the Eagles, but it will most likely end in a playoff birth if nothing insane happens in the last seven games.
