Spurs vs. Grizzlies: The matchup

The Spurs are moving forward in the short term with franchise forward Victor Wembanyama, who is set to miss multiple weeks with a calf strain, according to multiple media reports. San Antonio won its first game without Wemby over the Sacramento Kings (123-110) on Sunday and got a day off before returning to the floor Tuesday night against Memphis. Guard De’Aaron Fox led all scorers in that win over the Kings and registered an impressive double-double with 28 points and 11 assists to just two turnovers.

The Grizzlies are still searching for their top form as they look to snap a four-game losing streak amidst a brutal run of opponents. Memphis enters Tuesday night with a 4-10 overall record and has lost eight of its past nine games, but all eight losses have come to teams with .500 or better records. That includes three straight losses to the New York Knicks (133-120), Boston Celtics (131-95) and Cleveland Cavaliers (108-100) on the Grizzlies’ current four-game road trip with another four-game road swing beginning next week.
