Cam Skattebo had choice words for those who criticized him for appearing at a recent taping of Monday Night RAW at Madison Square Garden.

The star rookie running back suffered a season-ending injury in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, with linebacker Zach Baun causing Skattebo's ankle to dislocate. The 23-year-old underwent emergency surgery and is expected to be healthy by the start of next season.

While Skattebo continues on his journey to recovery, the star is doing what he can to distract himself from the rehab process, which includes enjoying himself at the WWE event. That said, some fans were not happy to see Skattebo ringside during his recovery.

"Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on," Skattebo wrote on X in response to fans who did not appreciate seeing the Giants star ringside at a WWE event.

"I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say."

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson shared his thoughts on Skattebo's post, simply replying with a gif of former WWE superstar and current AEW star Adam "Edge" Copeland appearing through the smoke with the WWE World Heavyweight title on his waist. The GIF seemingly signifies that Brunson, an avid wrestling fan, agrees with the star running back.

Fans on social media also took Skattebo's side, especially considering how gruesome the injury the 23-year-old sustained that ended his season. "People acting like this man was in a Hell in a Cell match last night. NY loves you Skatt. Keep bein you, heal up, and we'll see you back on the field next year," a fan wrote in response.

Another posted: "Keep on your grind Skatt! Forget them have fun and live your life man! Forget the negatives they are keyboard warriors with an opinion you don’t have to care about cause you have an opinion about them right back!"

A commenter believed that the angst aimed at Skattebo is a result of the Giants' poor play this season. "Its just the frustration with the team. If we were 7-5 none of the fan base would care as much. But another losing season at 2-9 sucks bro. You do you. We all know you will do your best to get back asap. Enjoy your life as you see best. Ignore the negativity," the post on X read.

Overall, the Giants are just percentage points better than the Tennessee Titans, who have the worst record in the league at 1-9.

For Skattebo, going to live events is a way for the star to get his mind off his gruesome injury, which was determined to be worse than originally expected. At the time, the star was confirmed to have suffered a dislocated ankle.

After further diagnosis, Skattebo also fractured his fibula and ruptured his deltoid ligament in addition to dislocating his ankle. With the three injuries, the 23-year-old is expecting a six-month recovery period and should be ready to participate in the Giants' OTAs in the spring.
