The Milwaukee Bucks have a tough challenge to deal with early in the 2025-26 NBA season. WithGiannis Antetokounmpo suffering a lower-body injury during Monday’s gameagainst the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road, Milwaukee is facing a short-term outlook of playing without its best player.
Although the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is not expected to miss more than two weeks of action, that is still significant time that the Bucks will have to survive minus the “Greek Freak.”

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo sustained a low-grade left groin strain and will miss 1 to 2 weeks, sources tell ESPN. Positive outcome after tests Tuesday for Antetokounmpo, who is the only player in the NBA averaging 30 points and 10 rebounds.
For now, the Bucks have no choice but to go forward and rely on the healthy bodies on their roster.

Charania’s update has also sparked a ton of reactions from fans online.
Here are some of the comments from them:
“Giannis finally decided it was too much to try to carry the entire team on his back.,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “A low grade groin strain is the universe’s way of telling even a Greek god to take a seat for a minute.”
From a commenter: “dude these injuries are nonstop… also find it pretty wild that he’s the only one with 30/10 given how crazy scoring has been this year”
“Tough break for Milwaukee, but relieved it’s a short sideline stint for Giannis. The 2013 draftee has carried the Bucks for over a decade—hoping for a quick bounce-back. Get healthy, Greek Freak! 💪,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Ahh, now it’s time to see how bad the Bucks really are. Wooooooo, can you feel the fun, Milwaukee?!”
Said another: “Damn. The MVP candidates are falling like flies on durability. That 65-game limit might actually get adjusted at this rate…”
Milwaukee is 8-7 so far in the 2025-26 NBA season, and it will likely have to source most of Antetokounmpo’s usual numbers from the likes of Ryan Rollins, Myles Turner, Kyle Kuzma and Gary Trent Jr.
