If Arsenal sell Gabriel Martinelli in January, it could open the door for them to sign a PL star wanted by Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham.
The Gunners wouldn’t have expected to do many big transfer deals in the January window mainly because they already spent well over £250m in the summer, and have arguably one of the most complete and deep squads in world football.

Beyond Sunday’s game, Mikel Arteta will be looking to January for potential sales, and recent reports have suggested that Arsenal could sell Gabriel Martinelli in a shock move this winter. It is understood that Arsenal expect interest in him from the Saudi Pro League, and of they get an good enough offer, they could be willing to offload the 24-year-old.
Arsenal could replace Martinelli with Semenyo
If the Gunners were to sell Martinelli, they would certainly look to replace him by signing another winger who can play on the left. That brings us to an exciting point, as recently, Sky Sports have reported that Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo will have a £65m release clause in January.
They say that Man City, Tottenham and Liverpool will all show an interest in the Cherries’ star, but if Arsenal sell Martinelli, why would the Gunners not consider making a move for Semenyo too.
He has been one of the best players in the Premier league this season, scoring six goals, and providing three assists. The versatile winger can play on the left and the right, and most would agree that he is an upgrade on Martinelli.
If the Gunners were able to sign him, he would be a fantastic addition, but also would prevent rivals from signing him, in what could be a double-edged sword. It is also understood that Semenyo is an Arsenal fan, so, you never know…
