Estevao Willian hailed as ‘best player’ for Brazil as Chelsea man saves them from embarrassing defeat

Estevao Willian is quickly earning a reputation for being a superstar, both for Chelsea and now for his national side, Brazil.

Estevao scored a penalty, his fifth goal in as many starts for his country to bring them back level against Tunisia, in a game which ended 1-1.

The performance capped off a very strong international break for the youngster. Estevao outperformed Vinicius Jr and co in their win over Senegal at the Emirates.

Despite a host of talented players on the pitch for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, it was again the Chelsea winger who they looked to for inspiration, something which could end up being a theme of the 2026 World Cup.

Chelsea’s Estevao Willian is Brazil’s ‘best player’ again

Brazilian media have been completely won over by the former Palmeiras man, with GE Globo again describing the Blue as the ‘best player’ on the pitch for either side.

They said: “The best player on the field once again. From the start, he took responsibility for exploiting the flanks and creating opportunities for the national team. Many individual plays caused discomfort for the Tunisian defense until the very last minute, literally, when he hit the post.

“He took responsibility and masterfully converted a penalty to score his fifth goal in a Brazil shirt.”

Estevao believes he is only going to get better, and if he does then he is going to have no problem reaching the highs that Chelsea have in mind for him.

Estevao tipped for big things internally at Chelsea

It is clear that the Blues have signed a superstar in the making, however they don’t believe it is going to be long before the whole world acknowledges him as one.

In fact, Chelsea believe Estevao will be one of the best in the world by the time he turns 21, in less than three years’ time.

It remains to be seen if plenty of minutes during the international break will see him remain on the bench for the Blues’ return to Premier League action against Burnley.

Even if he is, the magnitude of the two following games against Barcelona and Arsenal will give the Brazilian a chance to really announce himself as a player for the present, not just the future.
