Chelsea are about to return from their international break, so it’s a nice time to take stock of the season so far and figure out how we feel.
On the London is Blue podcast they tried to define the general feelings about the season so far.

“I think on the stats it looks better… so far, not perfect but better [in terms of scoring goals]. But I think if you would take the vibe score of Chelsea fans week to week, I think it doesn’t feel like much progress.”
That’s very true – the Blues shot up to third in the (admittedly very tight) table after their last win, but given the black mood after some of our games this season that feels faintly incredible. As Verlaney explained, that was largely down to some big wins over our top rivals at crucial moments:
“You have a couple of really key victories in here which have helped in steadying a very rocky period: the match against Liverpool obviously was incredibly critical, and the win against Spurs was really required for where we were in the table at the time… Chelsea have ebbed and flowed, but the fact that the defensive record is there or thereabouts and the attacking record is slightly better portends well.”
As they note, there’s talent in attack and defence to come back has to look pretty positive.

In other news…
Chelsea’s rotation policy is something which is being questioned – but not internally. The club are fully behind Enzo Maresca’s decisions, according to the BBC.
The Q and A also had some chat about Benoit Badiashile, who is going to return to action before too long according to Kinsella. How long he stays fit for this time is anyone’s guess…
