Sporting Director Says Left Back's Sale Could Match Cucurella Fee As Man City, United & Arsenal Enter Transfer Race

Eintract Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche claims Man City target Nathaniel Brown could fetch a similar price to the amount that Chelsea paid for Marc Cucurella.

The Blues splashed out £63m on the Spaniard in the summer of 2022, and when asked if Brown could potentially be sold for roughly the same fee in the future, Krosche replied:

“Yeah! Because he has three extraordinary skills that you can’t learn. He’s smart and intelligent, has a great technique and is very fast. And all this is needed to have a great career ahead of you.”

Frankfurt have sold players for some very high prices in past transfer windows, including Randal Kolo Muani to Paris Saint-Germain, Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, as well as Omar Marmoush to City, so Krosche’s bullish comments about Brown are not surprising.

Man City are one of 4 clubs pursuing the left-back

German tabloid Bild claim that Pep Guardiola’s side, Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid are all keeping close tabs on Brown.

The left-hand side of defence is a position that the Cityzens did strengthen in the summer, with Rayan Ait-Nouri having been signed from Wolves, but the Algerian has struggled for game time in recent weeks, with Nico O’Reilly being favoured ahead of him.

Brown has caught the eye this season

The 22-year-old has been in decent form since the beginning of the campaign, having scored 1 goal and provided 3 assists in 15 appearances for Frankfurt.

Brown’s performances have led to call-ups for Germany’s national team. He received his first senior cap against Luxembourg during a World Cup qualifier last month.

Manager Julian Nagelsmann then handed him his second appearance during the 6-0 win over Slovakia on Monday night. The fullback played the last 20 minutes as Germany finished top of their group.
