Dak Prescott delivered a performance for the record books on Monday night, moving past Tony Romo in one of the Dallas Cowboys’ most prestigious categories. His four-touchdown outing against the Las Vegas Raiders not only fueled a dominant 33-16 victory but also reshaped the quarterback record books in Dallas.
Prescott, in his 10th NFL season, now holds the franchise record for the most games with at least three passing touchdowns, surpassing Romo’s long-standing mark of 40. The milestone came during a nearly flawless showing, as Prescott completed 25 of 33 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns. His precision and poise against the Raiders were reminders of how far he has come since taking over as the team’s starter in 2016.

This latest feat adds to Prescott’s growing legacy in Dallas. Monday’s win marked his 41st game with three or more touchdown passes and his 13th career game with at least four, a total that places him seventh all time among quarterbacks through their first 10 seasons. It’s another testament to his consistency as the leader of the offense.
Prescott’s rise over Romo carries special weight considering their parallel careers. Romo once symbolized the modern Cowboys offense: gritty, dynamic, and talented but overshadowed by postseason frustrations. Prescott, who inherited that same pressure, now stands statistically ahead of Romo while carrying the same challenge of turning individual brilliance into a long-awaited Super Bowl run.

Prescott recently made a franchise record and took Romo’s spot in Cowboys history in the process. This is detailed more in a post by Jon Machota on X.
“Cowboys QB Dak Prescott now has 41 career games with at least 3 passing TDs, passing Tony Romo for the most 3-TD games in franchise history. Prescott has 4 passing TDs tonight, and his 13 games with 4-plus TD passes are the most in franchise history,” Machota tweeted.
Dallas also found hope in its all-around performance. The defense, bolstered by new addition Quinnen Williams, produced 1.5 sacks and multiple pressures, showing signs of balance that could finally help Prescott’s offensive dominance translate into consistent wins.

While neither Prescott nor Romo has brought a Super Bowl to Dallas, the new record underscores Prescott’s longevity and leadership. For Dallas fans, Monday night’s milestone was both a celebration of the present and a reminder of the standards still left to reach.
