The Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) extended their control of the NFC East with a Sunday Night Football win over the Detroit Lions. They’re still the only team over .500 as the Dallas Cowboys are (4-5-1) after beating the Las Vegas Raiders. The Washington Commanders (3-8) and New York Giants (2-9) both lost and remain firmly out of the NFC playoff picture. Let’s take a look back at this week’s games for our Week 11 NFC East Takeaways.

It hasn’t been pretty, but the Eagles have now won two straight games while scoring less than 16 points. Their 16-9 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football is Philadelphia’s fourth-straight win as they move to 8-2. The Eagles are well on their way to clinching the division.
The Eagles offense is still a work-in-progress
The Eagles’ offense has been struggling all season, and Sunday night was no exception. The Eagles only had 272 total yards with Jalen Hurts throwing for just 135. Saquon Barkley’s 83 rushing yards were his third-highest output of the season, but would have been his ninth-highest at this point last season.

The Cowboys are back
After losing two straight and headed into their bye week, the Cowboys came out with a big 33-16 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Dak Prescott led the way for the Cowboys with 268 passing yards and four touchdowns, while George Pickens had a monster receiving game with nine catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. Now 4-5-1, the Cowboys aren’t completely out of the playoff picture

Things get much tougher from here for Dallas
The Dallas Cowboys are now 4-5-1, but still sit 2.5 games back in the NFC playoff picture. While the Cowboys aren’t totally out of it, their schedule over the next four weeks is rough. Dallas next has to play the Eagles, followed by the Chiefs, Lions, Vikings, and Chargers. Dallas has to go at least 3-2 over that stretch to have a hope of the playoffs.
Commanders:

The Commanders are sunk
The Commanders have now lost six straight games after losing 16-13 to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. After a 3-2 start, things have fallen apart for the Commanders as they’ve dealt with a myriad of injuries, including to QB Jayden Daniels for what will likely be the rest of the season. At 3-8, the Commanders are all but eliminated from the NFC playoff picture.
Chris Rodriguez has taken over the backfield
With Jacory Croskey-Merritt having underperformed as of late, Chris Rodriguez has stepped in and assumed control of the Commander’s backfield for the time being. Rodriguez led the team with 15 carries for 79 yards on Sunday, while Croskey-Merrit had nine carries for just 28 yards.

The Giants lose another close one
The Giants are now 2-9 after losing 27-20 to the Green Bay Packers, but it’s their sixth one-score loss of the season. While New York has had no shot to truly compete with all of the injuries they’ve suffered this year, they’ve shown promise and look to be on the path toward a quick turnaround in 2026.
Jameis Winston wasn’t the answer
With Jaxson Dart missing the game due to a concussion, James Winston was unable to steer the Giants to victory. Winston went 19-29 for 201 passing yards and one interception. The Giants ran the ball 38 times on the day as Winston’s top receiver (Isaiah Hodgins) only had 57 receiving yards.
