Anthony Gordon is pushing to make his Newcastle United return against Manchester City on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has been struggling with a hip injury, with the issue forcing him off against West Ham and Athletic Club. He subsequently missed Newcastle United’s defeat to Brentford, while he was also forced to withdraw from the England squad.
Ahead of the Magpies’ return to Premier League action, Eddie Howe has said Anthony Gordon is ‘touch and go’ for Saturday’s game.

However, a fresh update from the Newcastle United training ground suggests he could be fit enough to feature.
Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has stated on X that Anthony Gordon was part of training on Wednesday, alongside the likes of Sandro Tonali and Nick Pope.
Downie adds there is ‘hope’ that the trio will feature in Saturday’s game against Manchester City at St James’ Park.
